Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Mykhailo Vertepa, trading as Good Hands ("we", "us", "our"), collects and uses your personal information when you use our website www.goodhandshome.co.uk or contact us about our services. We are the data controller for the information you provide. If you have any questions about this policy or your personal data, contact us at hello@goodhandshome.co.uk.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us — when you submit our quote/contact form or message us, we collect your name, email address, phone number, your postcode or area, and any details you share about the help you need.

Information collected automatically — when you visit our website, and only where you have given consent, we may collect standard analytics information such as your IP address, device and browser type, and how you use the site. See our Cookie Policy for details.

2. How we use your information and our legal basis

We use your information to:

  • respond to your enquiry and prepare a quote — legal basis: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries;
  • provide and manage the services you book, and contact you about them — legal basis: performance of a contract;
  • keep basic records of work and payments — legal basis: our legitimate interests and compliance with legal obligations such as tax records;
  • improve our website through analytics — legal basis: your consent.

We do not use your information for automated decision-making, and we do not sell your personal data.

3. Who we share your information with

We use a small number of trusted service providers ("processors") who handle data on our behalf:

  • Website hosting and database storage (our website platform and its cloud database provider), which stores the enquiries submitted through our form;
  • Email delivery and email hosting, used to send us a notification when you submit an enquiry and to hold it in our inbox;
  • Privacy-friendly website analytics, which counts visits without cookies and without collecting personal data.

These providers act on our instructions and are not permitted to use your data for their own purposes. We may also disclose information where required by law.

4. International transfers

Some of our providers may process data outside the United Kingdom. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as UK adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses) to protect your information.

5. How long we keep your information

We keep enquiry information for as long as needed to respond and provide our services, and for a reasonable period afterwards for records, tax and to handle any follow-up — normally up to 24 months after our last contact, unless we are required to keep it longer. After that we delete or anonymise it.

6. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to: access your data; have inaccurate data corrected; have your data erased; restrict or object to processing; data portability; and to withdraw consent at any time where we rely on it. To exercise any of these, email us at hello@goodhandshome.co.uk.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

7. Security

We take reasonable steps to keep your information secure and limit access to it. No online service can be guaranteed 100% secure, but we work to protect your data and to deal responsibly with any issues.

8. Children

Our website and services are aimed at adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18 through the website.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page with the "last updated" date.
